Traipse through the United Kingdom on this 10-day whisky tour through 19 distilleries and 15 local establishments.
Get acquainted with the world of whisky with the Whisky Journey, a 10-day bar-hopping experience organised by The Whisky Store from 11 to 20 December this year.
Whisky Journey pass holders are entitled to a Glencairn 10ml tasting dram, at each participating bar and restaurant, and access to fringe activities conducted by industry experts. Also available will be rare bottles for purchase at wholesale prices.
A smattering of 300 whiskies will be offered at the 19 partnering distilleries from various regions in the United Kingdom, such as heritage Scottish brand Bunnahabhain, Indian single malt whisky brand Paul John and Tomatin, winner of the World Whiskies Award 2019. Whisky will be paired with various cuisines ranging from Spanish, Korean and Chinese to allow guests to experience the drink in different ways.
For example, Spanish restaurant, FOC, pairs moreish tapas such as Smoked Cantabrico Anchovies with Salted Caramel Butter and 48-month Cured Iberico Ham with milder, less bitter malt liquors the likes of Omabrak Single Malt Gin, Kalak Single Malt Vodka and Currach Irish Malt.
While over at Chinese heritage pour bar, Jiu Zhuang, a flight of nine expressions of Tomintoul Scottish whiskey, ranging from a decade to five decades old, is complemented by two of their signature dishes, Kou Rou Bao and Foie Gras Battered Mushroom.
