The second Burger & Lobster finds a home at the esteemed Raffles Hotel Singapore.
Offering a fuller menu than its counterpart at Jewel Changi Airport, it also has an indoor and alfresco seating area called The MF Bar designed by award-winning consultancy Rockett. Outside, venetian blinds surround an octagonal floor-to-ceiling bar that towers over a warm wood counter and red distressed leather seats. We hear there are plans for live music performances in the near future.
In the main dining area is where the serious eating happens. By the entrance is a spread of seafood on ice where guests can assemble their own Fresh Seafood Platter. On the menu, most items are exclusive to the Raffles Hotel diner including the over-the-top Uni, Lobster and Caviar Roll (S$50++). There’s also the moreish Lobster Rosti (S$18++) with spicy guacamole and Lobster, Kale and Quinoa Salad (S$22++). If you’re craving for more local flavours, try the Laksa Lobster (S$70++), which will make you rethink the measly prawns served in laksa anywhere else.
Equal attention should be given to the bar but not just for its looks. The extensive drinks menu has four pages dedicated to single malt whiskies, Japanese whisky and American whisky. They haven’t forgotten about agave, brandy, gin, rum, sherry, wine and vodka if you should so feel inspired. For cocktails, stick to the classics such as the Bloody Mary (S$26) made with fresh cherry tomatoes and Marzo Heat hot sauce or go for one with some local flavour like the Matcha Pandan Martini (S$22) mixed with soy milk.
