One of the few cafes set in a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bee’s Knees has a unique charm. It’s a fuss-free, self-service eatery with a sprawling kid- and pet-friendly alfresco area equipped with plenty of fans and coolers.
The cafe has a generous menu offering pastries, sandwiches and pastas tailored to different dietary requirements. Their standout item, Laksa Tiger Prawn Pasta, is a take on local laksa noodles sans the heavy coconut milk gravy. The Smoked Chicken Mayo Pizza can be a little too heavy on the mayo for some, but we did love the vegetarian Margherita option. For something other than the usual caffeine concoctions, the Orange Mocha gives a citrusy punch that goes surprisingly well with coffee. When it comes to milkshakes, only those with a particularly sweet tooth should attempt to drink one.
