Nestled in the hipster Tiong Bahru estate, Forty Hands serves one of Singapore’s best versions of an Aussie classic—smashed ‘avo’ on toast.
It’s easy to take a fork to a ripe avocado, but Forty Hands puts effort into the seasoning as well. Apart from the wobbly poached eggs in this dish, the smashed avocado is perfectly seasoned with a mix of cumin, coriander, black and white sesame seeds and feta cheese. A winning combination with a slice of garlicky buttered toast.
Another dish to sink your teeth into is the 40 Hands Cheeseburger. The patty here is a house-blend of ground meat and spices, mixed with bone marrow for that extra indulgence.
Coffee here (by Common Man Coffee Roasters) is excellent, but try the Avocado Smoothie—a sweet, silky drink that is light yet creamy.
