HolyCrab, pun fully intended, serves amazingly delicious seafood. Crab, imported fresh from Sri Lanka, is king at chef-owner Elton Seah’s outfit. You choose to dress your crab, roasted or steamed, in different sauces, such as The Sauna—a light, soy sauce and ginger blend topped with chopped scallions—or the aptly-named Orgasmic, a rich browned salted egg yolk gravy infused with curry leaves. Prefer a little more complexity to your dishes? Try the  Green Mumba—a spicy and savoury sauce made from an aromatic rempah of green chillies and herbs.

Besides crab, the restaurant also delivers on other seafood-inspired dishes as well. The sautéed white clams with a generous amount of garlic are a must-order, while the Atlantic cod served with ginger and scallions is done Cantonese-style with a splash of hot oil to bring out the aromatics. For carbs, try the Hooked on Mee (Hokkien mee). The wok-fried noodles are braised in crab broth, and chock-full of plump squid and pork belly slices. A generous garnishing of fried pork lard seals the deal.

The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, service is charming and efficient and the drink menu boasts some interesting cocktails. HolyCrab is definitely a recipe for a fun night out with friends.
