Freshcano, an EU campaign dedicated to raising awareness about European fresh canned peaches, got underway in Singapore at Blu Kouzina on 13 September.
Freshcano—European Canned Peaches, a Greek-proposed EU initiative to highlight the quality of European canned peaches in South Korea and Singapore, kicked off with an intimate sharing session with professionals in fields such as logistics, transport, media, advertising and real estate.
H.E Constantina Koliou, Ambassador of Greece to Singapore, graced the event. Vasiliki Kouskouti, head of the Office for Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Embassy of Greece in Singapore, kicked off the session with opening remarks. Afrodite Filinta, a representative from ALMME, a Greek association of three agricultural cooperatives, then spoke about the cultivation, processing and standardisation of European canned peaches.
Karin Graubard-Reiter, a functional medicine nutritionist, went on to elaborate about the nutritional value of canned peaches. Based on research by US universities, canned peaches retain much of their nutrients compared to fresh ones. Stay tuned for more of Freshcano’s promotional events to come in the following months.
